KOREAN cold noodles are not all about the noodles themselves.
The noodle is also made from an assortment of spices, and you can add your own ingredients to add a bit of zest to the dish.
So whether you’re making cold noodles or just want to add some extra zest, this is a great recipe to get started.
We’ve compiled a few of our favorite cold noodles recipes, plus tips for making your own.
Ingredients 1.2 cups water 1 tbsp rice vinegar 1 tbsp sugar 1 tbsp black pepper 1 tsp ground ginger 1 tbsp sesame oil (or other cooking oil) 2 tbsp soy sauce 1 tbsp water 1 large egg 1 tbsp cornstarch 1 tbsp cayenne pepper Instructions Add water, rice vinegar, and sugar to a small saucepan.
Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and let simmer for 10 minutes.
Add ginger, soy sauce, water, and cornstech.
Let simmer for 5 minutes.
Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
Add eggs, soy, water and corn starch.
Bring mixture to a simmer, then simmer for 1 minute.
Remove the heat and stir in the egg.
Let cool for a minute or two.
Add water and stir until the sauce is thick.
Add sesame and cayanne pepper.
Serve warm with noodles and a side of rice.
Recipe Notes *Some recipes recommend stirring in the soy sauce before serving, as this will help with the thickening process.
You can also add it to the water, if needed.
